2010: The Year of the Tiger?

2010 represents the Chinese year of the tiger. Will the same apply in the world of golf?
Will Tiger Woods come back in time to play in and win the 2010 US Masters?
Since his first Major win , the US Masters Tournament in 1997 (Youngest Winner of the Masters aged 21yrs) , Tiger Woods has won 14 of the 46 Major events he entered since. (He missed the 2008 British Open and US PGA Tournaments following ACL knee surgery) That puts him 2nd on the All Time Major winning list, 4 behind the 18 of the Greatest of them all, Jack Nicklaus

Personal problems has forced Tiger into a self proclaimed break from his golf career and now the question remains whether he will return to golf and especially if he will compete in the 2010 US Masters tournament at Augusta National from 8-11 April 2010.
Tiger Woods has not missed a Masters since he first won in 1997 and his record of 4 Green Jackets is 2nd only to the 6 of Jack Nicklaus.
Being so close to the Greatest Golfer of All time must surely be a huge motivating factor for Tiger to put his personal problems behind him and compete for all available Major tournaments
The Bookmakers dont seem to agree though. Only PaddyPower.com, Betfair.com and Ladbrokes.com are taking bets with Woods included in the 2010 US Masters Field

Personally, I feel that the US Masters is Tiger’s favorite tournament. It was his first Major win and he would desperately want to match or better Jack Nicklaus’ 6 green jackets. Taking a break from the game is probably the worst thing Tiger could have done to his rivals. It will see him return rested and hungrier than ever to close the gap on Nicklaus and his quest to be the Best Golfer of All Time. He has shown previously that he thrives on pressure and the challenge of proving his critics wrong once again will ensure a commited Tiger Woods in the 2010 Masters Tournament. Dont miss this opportunity to get Good odds whilst the uncertainty lingers on
Betfair.com offers an interesting bet. You can bet how many Majors Tiger Woods or Phil Mickelson will win in 2010. The odds on Tiger winning 2 or 3 majors only are very good odds at present.

The last Chinese year of the tiger was in 1998. That year Tiger Woods won No Majors. Will it be different this time around?
